Greece's new higher education framework (Law 5094/2024) marks a transformative development for the country's education sector, enabling the establishment and operation of foreign universities through University Legal Entities (ULEs). The framework creates significant opportunities for leading international institutions to establish a presence in Greece while expanding access to world-class higher education. A major milestone in implementing this framework was the granting of an establishment and operating license to Deree – The American University of Greece.
