Zepos & Yannopoulos supports Boroume in reducing food waste

At the close of the year, we reflect on our ongoing collaboration with Boroume, working together to address two deeply interconnected challenges: food waste and food insecurity. While tonnes of fresh food go unused every day, many people still struggle to access a nutritious meal in a dignified and respectful manner. Saving surplus food quickly and safely can start with a small act – like a few hours at a market – and at the same time have a big impact.

Over the past year, 46 volunteers from Zepos & Yannopoulos dedicated their time to visiting local farmers’ markets and collecting fresh produce. These donations were then distributed to organisations supporting people with Alzheimer’s and other disabilities. Thanks to their efforts, a total of 3.953 kg of food was saved—equivalent to more than 11.873 portions of food.
