We are currently seeking to fulfil the position of a Network Administrator.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Network Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.
Responsibilities
- Support and administer third-party applications
- Ensure network security and connectivity
- Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
- Specify system requirements and design solutions
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration
- Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs
- Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
- Implement regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations, keep an eye out for needed updates
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer's networks and in house servers
- Troubleshoot and resolve Azure environment, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
- Implement new environments in the Azure cloud
Qualifications
- 5 years of proven experience in a network administrator role
- Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
- Cisco or training
- BSc degree in Computer Science or related field
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
